Ocean View

Saturday 14 June, 2014

As I write this, I am in our apartment outside the village of Tully in County Galway.  Sitting on a big leather recliner and looking out the front window at the ocean across the street!   I feel so cool!  :)  The sun is shining at 8:00 at night.

Today was a day of traveling.  We drove back to the Cliffs of Moher so that the girls could see it.  Randy, Joshua, and I went to the up the coast last night, so Randy and I elected to go down the coast while the girls and Joshua went up and we met back in the middle.  Here are some photos from that:

Then we drove and drove (on wider roads today!) back past our hostel to Galway city where we stopped to walk around, get cash, and eat lunch.  There were many street performers, so we stopped to watch some of those as well.  :)

Our wi-fi seems to be good here.  It's been a bit dodgy elsewhere.  In our first hostel, we sat next to the front desk and it took almost an hour to download email.  The second place was fine once she rebooted it.  Last night's place worked fine for me, but Randy had trouble getting on.  This one seems fine for all of us!  I've heard that the wifi is dodgy everywhere in Ireland.

We arrived at our apartment fine.  On the way, we stopped to take photos of the Kylemore Abbey.  We can't wait to visit later in the week.

Our apartment is large--three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room (with a working fireplace), huge kitchen, and dining area attached to the kitchen.  Even better--washer and dryer!  And our view--to die for!  Across the road is a small fenced in area with horses, including a baby horse!  And beyond them is the ocean!  We also have patio furniture and a barbecue.  Shelby found out the hard way that the fence by the horses (actually a rope held up by poles) is electrical! (I suspected that it was.)  She got a small shock and was prevented from touching the horses.

We met the owner of our apartment then went to the village for groceries for dinner and breakfast.  Then Randy went to take photos and the children and I spent some time exploring and enjoying our apartment.  Joshua found some games, so after dinner, we played the UK version of Trivial Pursuit.  The weather forecast is mid-70s and sunny for the week!
