Inside the Seoul airport |
The flight from Seoul to Hong Kong was uneventful as well. Less than a three hour flight, but we still had blankets, pillows, and headphones on our seats with movies to watch as well. And a meal. All of the meals come with real metal silverware and a tiny glass bowl--we're not sure what the glass bowl is. I guessed a fingertip bowl, except there isn't water in it. Hmmmm. One of our mysteries. From the airport, we took a city bus, then walked about half a mile, stopping at a 7-11 for bottles of water. Before I left MN, I saw a new doctor who actually used to be a travel doctor in Seattle. I asked about recommended vaccines. He prescribed a Hepatitis A vaccine, typhoid pills you take at home, malaria pills I start a few days before we go to India and continue while we're there and for a week after, and antibiotics for traveler's diarrhea. So, I'm set and hoping not to get sick. We found our apartment (airbnb). It is TINY! One room with a kitchenette in one corner, a bed, a loveseat that pulls out and the world's tiniest bathroom. Seriously, the bathroom is about two feet wide and about five feet deep. The shower is on the wall between the sink and toilet, no separate enclosure (called a wet bath).
A pic of Hong Kong from the bus |
We will sleep (we didn't sleep much--if any--on the plane) and get up tomorrow to explore Hong Kong. It is already hot and humid!
